What is the best ebook reader on the market?

It is very difficult to truly decipher the advertising blather and get to the real basics of which ebook reader(s) stand apart from the rest.

You are faced with a choices, or rather, a million and one different choices. Having come to the conclusion that an ebook reader is for you or yours, how do you goabout finding the true gem from the fakes.

1. Choose the ebook reader with the best array of formats.. now this is very important especially depending on how you go about getting your ebooks. if you purchase them from good ol' amazon or sony store, then you are need only go with their particular ebook reader, and it wont get simpler than that. However, if you are abit more adventurous and like to read converted ebooks, or download your ebooks from other means, then you will preferably be looking for an ebook reader that hosts the most formats for your money- epub, rtf,html,txt bebook,adobe, etc. etc...

2. Dont base everything on looks. This should be self explanatory, however this is a hard rule to follow. I, for one, find this one the easiest to get distracted by. Who doesnt get taken in by a pretty package, when beneath it does not utilize nearly as many functions and yet you cannot leave without it because it is -gasp- pink, and you simply must have it in that colour.(this example was for the ladies lol). There are quite a few new ebook readers coming out which are sprucing up the packaging with an array of colours to appeal to anyones taste. Dont let the looks be the deciding factor, just ONE of the factors.

3. What is the purpose of the ebook? This is really a very important factor in what type of ebook reader you are buying. What is the real reason you are getting the ebook reader. Are you an avid reader and want it for plain and simple reading? Are you a techie who loves gadgets and wants a mini computer - with the most functions fitted into one device as possible, so you can use it for music, ebooks, audio books, agenda etc? There are many ebook readers, and by keeping in mind the main purpose this will help you cipher out your gem.
